With the support of its school board and church family, this year Mountain View Conference's Parkersburg Academy is offering a non-conventional kindergarten through second-grade education called “Forest Classroom.”
Most teachers can’t wait to be off for the summer. No more grading, lesson planning, noisy classrooms or ringing bells. Shortly after summer hits, however, many teachers begin to miss their students, classrooms and joy that being a Christian school teacher brings.
“Calvary School has always had strong church support. Church members who don’t have children in the school are still financially supportive,” says Cynthia Poole, Associate Superintendent of Education for the AEC.
A Blue Mountain Academy bell choir student was recently recognized with an award given to one bell choir student each year from across the North American Division who “demonstrates outstanding leadership in the art of handbells."
